The Hyack Swim Club is a member of Swim BC, not-for-profit Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) and
the governing body for competitive swimming In British Columbia.
The Hyack Swim Club was formed in 1973 through an amalgamation of the Burnaby Tyees Swim Club and
the New Westminster Y-Kings Swim Club. It is now ranked as one of the top Swim Clubs in Canada.
The Hyack Swim Club is a non-profit society, with income received from monthly fees and various fund raising
activities. The money is spent on pool rental, coaching salaries, travel and club administration.
The purpose of the club is to develop competitive excellence, from a Learn-to-Swim level to world-class
competition. In doing so, we hope to instill self-discipline, leadership and sportsmanship in all the athletes
who swim with us.
The club operates out of four area pools: The Canada Games Pool Fitness Centre in New Westminster, Bonsor
Pool in Burnaby, the City Centre Aquatic Centre in Coquitlam and the C.G. Brown Pool in Burnaby. The
training of our national swimmers is confined to the Canada Games Pool.
