Erica Beaton in the 50 freestyle swam to a blistering 26.76 which placed her in the silver medal position as second fastest overall in the country and first in her age category. For Erica it was an impressive move forward as less than a month ago she made her first consolation final at the senior level at the World Championships and Pan American Games Trials. Head Coach Mark Bottrill was pleased with the result. "Erica is a great racer, she has a keen sense of how to get to the finish in close races, which is required in such sprint events as the 50 free. I am excited for Erica, her goal is to be in the final at Olympic Trials next year, so this silver medal will give her some great motivation to train hard and prepare for the Trials".

Kenneth Cho was the Canadian Champion in the 50 Backstroke as the fastest 13-year-old. Kenneth has made strong strides in the last four months when he qualified to compete at the prestigious Club Nationals. Kenneth finished 10 over-all in the event for the 13-14 boys.

Hyack relays were strong at the meet, finishing 4th and just out of the bronze in the 14 and under boys 200 Medley Relay, and 4th in the Senior Girls 400 Free relay.
