William "BJ" Johnson, Chairman
Mr. Johnson has over thirty years experience in business strategy development, marketing, and engineering with many of
North America's leading technology companies. Most recently he was President of Cabletron's (NYSE: CS - news), Global
Network Technology Services responsible for the restructuring and sale of the professional services division. As Vice
President, Non-stop E-Business Solutions and Vice President, Networks & Communications at Compaq he was responsible for
integrating four niche technology providers to penetrate the networking market. He has held senior management positions at
Crosscomm Corporation, IBM, Digital and Honeywell Information Systems.
Mr. Johnson has an MSEE and MBA from Northeastern University and BSEE from Pennsylvania State University.
John Hectus, Director
Mr. Hectus served for thirty-one years with AT&T Corporation in various senior executive positions in both domestic
and international operations. After a succession of increasingly senior positions in finance, operations and strategic
planning, in 1999 Mr. Hectus was appointed President, AT&T Canada Enterprises responsible for strategic direction, merger
and acquisitions, investments, intellectual property and financial performance for AT&T's operations in Canada.
Mr. Hectus is a graduate of Niagara University with a BA English, and of The Executive Program, University of Virginia.
Robert Heller, Director CEO of Merlin Software Technologies International, Inc.
Robert is the founder of Merlin Software Technologies International, Inc. and it is his vision
that has directed Merlin to its position today. Robert began his career at Tandy Corporation
(Radio Shack) in England where he spent six years in a number of managerial positions and was offered
the position of Western Regional Computer Sales Manager in Canada shortly before leaving the company in
1982.
Robert has more than 20 years experience in the high tech industry, of which 15 were managing his own
software development company and spent two years as President of an Internet service provider. Robert
has a software engineering background and has provided systems analysis, business requirements analysis,
system design and development for many companies including Unisys, Xerox and NCR Corporation.
Robert continues to provide technology consulting advice to a number of companies and has recently
accepted an invitation to sit on the technology advisory board of Virtual Access Networks. Robert
graduated from college in England having successfully completed courses in English, History and Sociology.
He is married with two children, is an accomplished musician, licensed pilot and participates in a
number of competitive sports activities.
Trevor McConnell, Director
CFO of Merlin Software Technologies International, Inc.
Trevor has provided extensive accounting services to private and not-for-profit enterprises
and acted as a consultant to a legal practice specializing in real estate matters. He is a member of the
Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia.
Trevor has 20 years experience in accounting and financial management. He was Director of Finance and
Administration for the Canadian subsidiary of a North American environmental engineering company and was
Vice President of Finance for a publicly traded manufacturer of automotive accessories for OEM
manufacturers including GM, Daimler-Chrysler, Honda, Nissan and Mazda.
Webb Green, Director
Chief Executive Officer, TRD Frameworks
Webb Green, as President of TRD Frameworks, has provided market research to a wide range of high tech
and consumer product manufacturers. His clients include companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft and
DuPont.
Webb provides significant research experience going beyond the provision of research results by assisting
in applying those results to the development, and implementation, of corporate branding, product
development and market strategy.
Prior to starting TRD Frameworks, Webb was Corporate Research Director and Planning Director at Cole
Weber/Ogilvy and Mather.
Webb received his MBA from California State University and completed post-graduate work at Harvard, the
University of California at Berkley and the University of Washington. He has extensive university-level
teaching experience in marketing, resource management and research at a number of institutions.
Dr. Curt Alexander, Director Partner, OWL
Curt is a corporate advisor and brand strategist, with an extensive international portfolio and a solid track record of success.
Curt has advised blue chip companies in Europe, Asia, and North America. He is currently a partner at OWL,
an international brand and strategic marketing consultancy based in San Francisco, and is an active speaker
on branding, corporate strategy, and marketing communications.
Erik Moris, Director
Mr. Moris was Senior Director of Communications for Drugstore.com. He also served as Vice President, Marketing for RealNetworks Inc. During his tenure at Microsoft, he managed
advertising for the extremely successful Windows 95 launch and was Group Manager for the Internet Platform
and Tools Division. For 9 years, he was a Senior Vice President at McCann-Erickson Advertising.
Mr. Moris holds a B.A. in Communications and Business from Western Washington University.
