MERLIN Software Signs Agreement With TheLinuxStore.com,
a Premium Sponsor of CNET Linux Center

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Feb. 22, 2000 - MERLIN Software Technologies International Inc. (the "Company"), a leading provider of Linux based software applications and utilities including PerfectBackUP+ and HotWire Fax, today announced the signing of an agreement with TheLinuxStore.com, the leading source for Linux products, support and services and a premium sponsor of the CNET Linux Center.

Under the terms of the agreement, The LinuxStore will begin to sell MERLIN's PerfectBackUP+ 6.2 to its customer base through its online retail outlet.

Linux growth has outstripped even the most optimistic predictions from industry analysts and now represents 24% of all corporate server installations. This figure is quickly approaching the Microsoft figure at 38%. IDC estimates Linux commercial shipments will increase at a compound annual growth rate of 25% through 2003.

MERLIN Software successfully launched the commercial version of PerfectBackUP+ at Comdex in Las Vegas during November 1999 and continues to gain rapid acceptance as a premium provider of Linux Software for all Linux operating systems.
