MERLIN Software announces Option Source ^TM Program

The Option Source ^TM Program is proprietary to MERLIN and is designed to speed the development of applications for the Linux operating system.

Open Source software is software with the source code made available to the public, with no fees or royalties for use or re-distribution. Any number of software programmers can develop the software. It allows companies and individuals to collaborate on a product, or multiple products that could not be achieved individually. Bug-fixes and user-requested changes are updated immediately; and security is increased. These programmers are, in large part, not currently compensated. Option Source program participants receive compensation in the form of cash and stock options directly from MERLIN, who then owns joint copyright and intellectual property rights to the developed code. The developed code will be provided to the community for use under the MERLIN Option Source license, itself derived from an open source license.
