MERLIN Software announces PerfectBackUP+ v7.0 Beta for RedHat 6.2 and 7.0

BURNABY, B.C. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Oct. 18, 2000 - MERLIN Software Technologies International, Inc. a leading developer of Linux based software applications and utilities today announced the release of PerfectBackUP+ v7.0 Beta release for RedHat 6.2 and 7.0.

PerfectBackUP+ v7.0 is a full-featured network backup utility for Linux servers and workstations. It provides automated full system backup and recovery, backup packages and scheduling, data encryption, compression, enhanced recovery and a robotics module that supports a broad range of tape libraries. PerfectBackUP+ v7.0 extends the use of the wizard tool to ease system backup and restore for novice users and provides all around improvement in performance and device support.

IDC reported at a recent conference that the storage management industry reached $5 Billion dollars in 1999 and is expected to grow to $13-$14 Billion by 2004. The backup and restore segment of this market, where MERLIN's PerfectBackUP+ is targeted, was approximately $2.5 Billion for 1999 and is expected to grow at 17% compounded annually through 2004.
