Merlin Software Announces Communicado FAX 4.0 Release

Communicado FAX 4.0, a Milestone in Integrating Linux, Unix, Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh.

BURNABY, British Columbia - (BUSINESSWIRE) - December 28, 2000 - MERLIN Software Technologies International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: MLSW), a leading provider of Linux based software applications and utilities, today announced the public release of Communicado FAX 4.0.

Communicado FAX completely replaces the HotWire FAX program that has been available for free download since 1995. While Communicado FAX leverages the technology developed and tested in HotWire FAX, it is a significant upgrade to that technology.

Notable enhancements include a complete conversion to true client server technology, improved support for the newer class 2.0 fax modem standard, a completely updated interface written with java and swing technology and integration with Linux office products such as Star Office, Applixware Office and Wordperfect Office Suite 2000 for Linux and Wordperfect 8 for Linux. The personal version provides all of the facilities and look and feel of modem e-mail programs while the enterprise version provides remote clients for Microsoft Windows users who can now print, send, receive and view faxes through Linux servers.
