MERLIN Receives $1 Million Dollars in Funding

BURNABY, British Columbia, May 1, 2001 - (PRNEWSWIRE) - MERLIN Software Technologies International, Inc. (MLSW), a leading provider of Linux based software applications and utilities, today announced that it has received $1 million in funding from several institutional investors.

The $1.0 million in proceeds is the second tranche of a $2.1 million private placement which closed on August 24, 2000.

"This funding allows us to continue to move forward with the full commercialization of our software products and finish development of our network appliances," said Robert Heller, CEO and President of MERLIN.
