Merlin Software Technologies International, Inc. Appoints Jerome Conlon to Board of Directors

Burnaby, BC - August 13, 2001 - Merlin Software Technologies International, Inc. - (OTCBB: MLSW), a leader in software development and business solutions for the small to medium-sized enterprise market, today announced the appointment of Jerome Conlon to Merlin’s Board of Directors. Mr. Conlon brings to Merlin more than 20 years of experience in management and marketing at some of the world’s leading corporations.

He is the former Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of INTERNAP Network Services, and has previously held the positions of Senior Vice President of Marketing and Program Development at NBC, Vice President of Brand Planning, Consumer Insights and Category Management at Starbucks Coffee Company, and Director of Marketing Insights at Nike, Inc. During his tenure with Starbucks, Mr. Conlon helped double sales over a two-year period and expand the company into new channels. During his 14 years of employment with Nike, he was instrumental in helping the company achieve significant market growth in both sales and market share.
