MERLIN Names Robert G. Murray as Chief Marketing Officer

Burnaby, BC - November 14, 2001 - MERLIN Software Technologies International, Inc. (OTCBB: MLSW) Chief Executive Officer and President Robert Heller announced today that Robert G. (Bob) Murray will join the company as Chief Marketing Officer, effective immediately.

Murray was General Manager of Compaq Computer Corporation's (NYSE: CPQ chart, msgs) North American networking products business unit until March 2000. At Compaq he was responsible for creating the complete sales and marketing organization for Compaq's network product offering as well as the business unit's P&L. Reversing six quarters of sales decline, the network business unit increased sales volume 400% quarter over quarter.

Prior to joining Compaq in 1997, Murray was Marketing Vice President for AT&T's Paradyne business unit and then European Marketing Director for AT&T's Unisource joint venture working out of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. From 1984 to 1991, Murray was Worldwide Marketing Director for Digital Equipment Corporation's network business unit, which grew from $200 million to $1.5 billion in less than 4 years. From 1991 to 1993 Murray was Director of Digital's European product marketing working out of Geneva, Switzerland.

In his executive capacity with MERLIN, Murray will be responsible for creating and implementing global marketing strategies including research, new products, pricing, promotions, sponsorships, diversity, global corporate communications and advertising, community relations, and business analysis.
