Merlin Announces Fiscal 2001 Results and Conference Call

Burnaby, BC - April 16, 2002 - Merlin Software Technologies International, Inc. (OTCBB: MLSW) ) today announced the filing of the company's annual report on Form 10-KSB for the year ended December 31 2001.

Revenues for 2001 increased 277% over the previous fiscal year (2000) to $61,564 with approximately 50% of our annual revenue occurring during the month of December. Net loss for the year was $4,332,808 or $0.31 per share. The primary impetus for the increase in revenue was the introduction of the EssentialServerTM network attached storage and backup server late in the 4th quarter.
